Gingers

When I was little my maternal grandmother would make these dollop sized cookies and mail them to us for the holidays. Long after she passed I took up the tradition and baked into the wee hours of December in order to share them with my family at Christmas. I've taken to making them for holidays, special occasions, family reunions and for my husband who can devour an entire batch in a couple days. I have never shared the recipe, instead delighting in giving the freshly baked cookies to friends and family. I admit that I love the accolades and know my grandmother would be tickled too. I'm hoping to bring Gingers to the masses and am working on a plan to bake into the wee hours at a kitchen in Chicago. I'll post my pitfalls, plans and progress here!
