When Did Lying Become The Norm?

Keeping track of all the lies, all the deceit, all the crazy is exhausting. Day after day, night after night, keeping track is becoming a full time job. I'm a born and raised Chicagoan and Dick Durbin has been a stable staple for as long as I can remember so I'm betting on his recollections of the whole "shithole countries" craziness. That said someone(s) is lying. I know some people/politicians have always lied, I'm no Pollyanna, but why is it so easy for people to lie? I'm so disappointed in where we are but I can't let go of the crazy, so in addition to being a woman minding the Time's Up movement/an active member of my family/a good friend to my girlfriends (which I'm currently failing...)/full-time worker/morning writer/and minder of my 92 year-old dad, I am as are most of you now - a full-time minder of the crazy. We have no choice. We must keep the pressure on all of our politicians - to keep them accountable. We don't have a choice. The world is watching.
